Hair

If you need to get your roots or color touched up, make sure you plan for adequate time before your session in case of anything going wrong and needing to be fixed. Hair color is a chemical and accidents happen. We want you to have enough time before your shoot to get accidents corrected so you don’t have to pay a rescheduling fee. We don’t advise trying a new haircut, bangs, or color prior to your session.

What about “hair down there”?

Natural is totally fine with us, shaving or waxing is also perfectly acceptable. However, trying something new can sometimes cause a reaction like ingrown hairs or red rash bumps. Make sure you are experimenting well before your session if you’re trying something new so you can show up and not worry about your nether-regions.

Skin / Nails

Skin

Drink lots of water to keep your skin healthy, plump, and clear. Exfoliate frequently, especially 2-3 days before your shoot (NOT the night before!). Avoid trying any new skincare products or changing your routine right before your session.

Hydration and moisturization are the most important steps in healthy skin! Please avoid sun exposure as much as possible.

Do not worry about looking “pasty” or “ashy” in your photos, I would rather add a subtle warm glow than have you show up with a sunburn or a spray tan.

Nails

Natural nails are perfectly fine for your photoshoot, as long as they are well maintained and clean. If you’d like to get a mani/pedi or do it yourself, we advise for soft, neutral, or gem tones colors.

Trendy shapes and bedazzles are fun, just make sure it’s something you’ll still love in 10-20 years after the style passes. Pictures are forever!

TANNING

Spray Tans

As a part of your session fee you receive a complimentary Signature Spray at Model Behavior, it is recommended to be booked approximately 3-4 days prior to your session (your booking code will be given to you closer to your session date) This is optional, but is a great way to gain an extra glow on your session day.

We do not advocate for tanning beds because they cause redness and blotchiness of skin, and additional retouching of your skin because of tanning beds will be charged a $35 fee per corrected image.

Spray Tan Prep
Following these steps will be the key to having a the best spray tan!

Exfoliate! Exfoliation is the most important step to a successful airbrush tan. Ideally, exfoliate your skin all over with an exfoliating glove and exfoliating scrub.

Don’t forget your elbows, ankles, neck and underarms!

Shave, wax, or remove any unwanted body hair 24-48 hours before your tanning session. Shaving the day of your spray tan will open your pores which can cause “strawberry skin” (little dots of spray tan can settle into your pores).

Do not use any lotions, deodorant, perfumes, or oil-based products. Oils can leave a film on your skin that can block the even absorption of the sunless tanning solution.

Wear dark, loose-fitting long pants, a baggy shirt, and loose shoes or flip-flops to your appointment. Do NOT wear jeans, leggings, or dresses. Shorts are also not recommended.

After Your Spray Tan
Avoid sweating or getting wet until after your first rinse.

After your spray tan, your spray tan artist will tell you when you should rinse. For your first time in the shower after your spray tan, rinse with ONLY water! NO soap, NO scrubbing!

Rinse until the water runs clear – use your hands to make sure all the bronzer is rinsed off. Again, your full result won’t show until approximately 24 hours post your first rinse, so be patient, as it’s normal to be lighter after that initial rinse.

Tan Lines

We understand that it may be unavoidable to stay out of the sun during the summer, but we do ask that you take extra precautions and try to limit exposure as much as possible.

Wear clothing with alternating neck/arm lines to avoid really bad farmers tans or strap lines, and wear hats/long sleeves/pants as much as possible within reason. Sunscreen is your friend, and always relax in the shade.

Editing tan lines is not a service we provide free of charge as it is extremely difficult to correct uneven skin tone.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Should I prepare?

How should I prepare?

My best advice to you, is to STRETCH, hydrate, and moisturize. Boudoir Sessions are equivalent to yoga class. The more bendy you are, the easier this will be. Drinking lots of water helps make you more flexible too, and it’s going to reduce bloating and clear up your skin. We also really love it when clients have some screen shots of our past sessions to show us examples of poses they really love! Don’t forget to eat a great breakfast the morning of your shoot. You need energy to maintain these poses, so fuel your body! We have a refrigerator if you’d like to bring anything – but we have TONS of snacks and water on hand. We will order a chartreuse board of your choice from a local caterer.

What About Grooming?

What about grooming?

If you need to get your hair touched up, your nails done, or have any hair removal services done, make sure you do it a few days prior to your session so everything has time to “settle” and you have a little wiggle room should things need to be fixed. I don’t recommend trying new hairstyles or colors, getting new piercings or tattoos immediately before your session.

What Should I Bring?

Considering 99% of our clients rely solely on the client wardrobe for the lingerie for their sessions, it is not necessary that you bring anything for your session. We do require that you provide 2 pairs of underwear to wear as an added layer of separation between you and our client wardrobe pieces. You must bring 1 black thong and 1 skin tone thong (seamless or g-string work best). Other than that you are not required to bring anything at all. If you do bring things to wear, please make sure they are in like-new condition, with the tags removed, and if its something that needs to be ironed make sure that happens and then keep it on a hanger for the day of your session.

Jewelry:

Jewelry is a fun thing to bring to personalize your session. Custom pieces or sentimental pieces make great accent items.

Shoes:

We carry sizes 6-10 at the studio, but our selection is not super robust. If you have any heels, high heeled boots, or even cowboy you love, and maybe never get to wear, this is a great opportunity to bring them! Please make sure all tags and stickers are removed.

Should I Arrive 15 Minutes Early?

No, please don’t. We sometimes have back to back appointments during the day so we will not be able to let you in early or answer your calls or texts.

But, we promise to be ready for you promptly at your scheduled appointment time! If you need to kill some time, there are a few places near by to grab coffee.

How Should I dress the Morning Of?

Please arrive in loose fitting clothing that will not leave impressions on your skin. Avoid jeans, socks, underwire bras. Feel free to wear Pj’s, sweats, yoga pants, or leggings.

Don’t feel like you need to dress up for us! Most likely everyone here will be in leggings too 🙂 Don’t forget to bring anything you want to wear after your session incase you wish to dress any differently than when you arrived.

What if I Get a Zit or a Bruise?

Don’t worry, that’s why we use Photoshop! Moisturize your skin to keep it looking fresh and luminous.

When will i see my pictures?

As mentioned in your consultation and the initial session guide we sent you, you will be scheduled to return to the studio, or meet with us online via Zoom within 5 to 7 business days after your session.

This is were you will view your fully retouched images for the first time. All clients are required to return to the studio, or meet with us via Zoom within 14 days to view images and place their order unless a previous arrangement has been discussed. Clients who cannot return to the studio within the 14 day guideline will have their images deleted and they will no longer be available for purchase.

If you feel this will be an issue for you, please make arrangements with us as soon as possible.

Payment Options

Pre-Session Payment Plans

It has become increasingly popular to purchase a collection prior to your session by either paying in full or setting up a payment plan. A prepayment is required for at least the minimum purchase of $1500. By pre-purchasing a collection, it allows us to plan your session with specific products in mind, and we reward you with Bonuses valued at up to $600! We do not offer payment plans after your session.

Click HERE to set up your Pre-Session Collection Purchase or Payment Plan!

If you pre-purchase your Collection, you can gain access to our exclusive Bonus Wardrobe and Speciality Set options! A prepayment of our minimum investment is required to be paid in full 60 days prior to your session date.

If you have a specific question we did not address in the guide, please let us know ASAP!

It is very important to us that we know you are excited and confident going into your session, and not worried over small details that can be addressed in a simple phone call, text, or email.
